Yet the "Farm Assurance" regulations we had to comply with in Scotland in the 1990's meant we had to prevent birds and rodents from crapping in piles of feed grain that was to be fed to cattle in an effort to reduce ecoli levels in the guts of slaughter cattle. A result of the 1996 Wishaw ecoli outbreak that killed 21 people - due to a butcher's shoddy practices.

Soybeans won't take no harm sitting thru a rain even if they are not ready...will they?

Last year they stood thru the October snow and combined well on November. ...from what I seen. ...it would be nice to be done....

We will grab them if they are 16 moisture or less . Rather not run header on wet ground if we don't have too .

Well...., we got our two tenths OF A TENTH! Enough to reduce the risk of fire creeping in last year's stubble. Got the flax piles burnt, mission accomplished! It got to the point the piles didn't light as easy as when we started.

3/4" here and still drizzling a little. Our forecast for the week has been downgraded from 4" to 3". Next batch due Wednesday. Feeling the difference in temperature going from 30C to 9C high in two days!

Plus 10 highs, humidity, CLOUDY and near ZERO lows really dry swaths up. October harvest here we come. But yes a few more inches and mud zone is back.

6/10ths overnight, steady showers started again at 3:30 this afternoon. Won't hurt a thing. Ground will by dry by the time beans are ready.
